The #Keene Budget.Ng (Follow the Budget) Project #KBN will be a Monthly event of the project aimed at tracking and reporting government people-oriented constituencies’ abandoned and uncompleted projects in our communities. The project will also provide a platform for the citizenry who are beneficiaries of government projects on how to track projects and engage government constructively for effective and efficient representation that brings development in the society.

This Project is also poised at developing community stakeholders’ capacity in regards to transparency in government with the aim at achieving the sustainable development goals, impacting/improving the life of community dwellers, projecting integrity, transparency and accountability, reducing societal challenges and transforming the society for a greater future. It will ensured the promotion of transparency in all government projects through creating awareness, sensitization and human development, this should be given the needed attention in our society to help achieve the SDG goals through tracking and reporting government abandoned and uncompleted projects to the public through media to help reduces corruption and promote transparency in government.

Goals And Objectives

The goal of the #Keene Budget. Ng (Follow the Budget) Project #KBN event is to provide a platform for citizenry who are beneficiaries of government projects on how to track projects and engage government constructively for effective and efficient representation that brings development in the society. In this regard, activities are designed to achieve the following objectives;

  • Build capacity, awaken and raise the consciousness of citizenry on the campaign of transparency in government with knowledge on government budget that will enable them hold government accountable on constituency projects within the Niger Delta with Akwa Ibom as the pilot state.
  • Identify, engage and enlighten relevant community stakeholders on the benefit of government budget and constituency projects for community development through advocacy visits, trainings and sensitization.
  • Track the visibility of projects in the community, engage government for community development.
