Profile

Oladayo Ogunbowale is a Media and Communications professional with deep expertise in project design, policy-driven media campaigns, and social impact incubation. As the founder of the Shanah Initiative for Human Development (formerly Change Nigeria Alliance, established 2012), he has firsthand experience in grassroots NGO leadership. He is a certified international trainer by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), having completed a Training-of-Trainers session in Kigali, Rwanda (2022), and is a 2015 fellow of the USIP Generation Change Programme. His advanced training in fact-checking from ICFJ AfricaCheck, the Africa Resilience Network, and the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos equips him with rigorous analytical skills essential for governance and accountability within the non-profit space. He has also been selected for the Youthhub Africa Child Rights Media Advocacy Fellowship (2018, 2019), supported by the Malala Fund, and the Democracy Series for Political Active Participation for Youth (DESPLAY Africa, 2012/13), funded by UNDP and IRI.

Oladayo brings high-level strategic advisory experience, having served since 2021 as a two-time Special Assistant on Communication to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Nigeria. Earlier, he led the Business Development Unit at Metropolitan Broadcasting Services (IBR 92.5FM and IATV) as a program producer and lead news analyst, later holding similar roles at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (Oluyole 98.5FM and BCOS TV). He produced and hosted Development Update, a weekly radio programme for development sector stakeholders, and was among a select group of media personalities who engaged Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa. An alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University and Ensign College (Utah, USA), he is also a prolific writer on social and policy issues.

With his unique blend of media leadership, policy advisory, peacebuilding credentials, and direct NGO founding experience, Oladayo is ideally positioned to serve as Advisory Board Chairman, providing strategic oversight, governance counsel, and advocacy direction for an NGO committed to sustainable human development.
